AI-driven sports performance: tennis insights, data analysis, player tracking, real-time updates, performance metrics

Every July, the All England Lawn Tennis Club hosts Wimbledon, the most prestigious tournament in the tennis world. For over three decades, IBM has partnered with the club to enhance coverage of the Championships and engage fans through data-driven insights. This year, IBM Watson X, the enterprise-ready generative AI platform, plays a pivotal role in narrating some of the tournament’s most compelling stories.

One of the standout features this year is the “Catch Me Up” feature, powered by IBM Watson X. This AI-generated tool provides summaries for every singles player, detailing their last match and the challenges they face in upcoming ones. Users can personalize their “Catch Me Up” list by adding their favorite players. If matches are live or highlights are available, the feature offers relevant links and displays match results.

The “Catch Me Up” feature considers factors like recency, geolocation, and player rankings to deliver additional relevant content. It also creates summary cards that capture major storylines, highlights, and previews of upcoming matches.
